Cars are not allowed to go outside the borders of the Republic of Cyprus and pass into the part of Cyprus now held by Turkish troops. In case the rental car is driven outside the borders, all insurances cease to be valid (Insurance against third parties, CDW, TP, PAI, SCDW, SUPER COVER, etc.).

The driver will then be fully responsible for any loss, damages or body injury that may be caused either to the rental vehicle or to any third party (other car or passengers of another car) in case any incident happens outside of the Republic of Cyprus. The driver is also responsible for all costs of repatriating the car to the Republic of Cyprus.

All authorized drivers of Ivory Rent a Car vehicles are covered against damages from fire to the rented vehicle and Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury and property damage up to the maximum amounts specified by the Republic of Cyprus. Both coverages are subject to the General Terms of the Ivory Rent a Car insurance contract with its insurer.

All fines resulting from the driver's misconduct are borne solely by the renter.

To pick up the car, the driver needs to show an original ID or passport, an original driver's license and a credit/debit card to pay for the rental and the guarantee.

For all groups, the minimum driver's age is 25 years and the maximum is 75.

Drivers aged between 20 and 25 are allowed to rent after they accept the Young Driver's Surcharge of €10 per rental day, provided they have held a valid driver's license for at least 1 year prior to the pick-up date. For drivers aged between 75 and 80 an additional charge of €10 per rental day applies.

For all groups, a valid credit or debit card accepted by Ivory Rent a Car must be shown for all necessary pre-authorization amounts, as well as pre-payments and settlement of final rental charges.

The renter can be covered with reduced excess:

• ●50% reduced excess, all groups — €10 per day (minimum 10 rental days)
• ●75% reduced excess, all groups — €20 per day (minimum 10 rental days)
• ●100% reduced excess, all groups — €30 per day (minimum 10 rental days)

Upon pick-up of the vehicle, Ivory Rent a Car will pre-authorise an amount from the driver's credit card as a deposit for guarantee, which is fully refunded at the end of the rental provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 7 days depending on the issuing bank. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car group:

A valid driving license held for at least one (1) year is required from the driver.

No refund is given for any unused voucher value or rental days. An ongoing rental extension should be arranged with Ivory Rent a Car at least 48 hours before the reserved rental expiry, and is charged as per the valid retail tariff.

At the end of the agreed rental period, Ivory Rent a Car allows a grace period of 1 hour free of charge, after which the customer is charged with a minimum of one full rental day.

A charge of €5 per day has to be paid for each additional driver.

The charge applicable for delivery and collection of the rental car to all airports in Cyprus is €60.

Ivory Rent a Car reserves the right to provide a different car model to the one originally reserved, of an equivalent or higher model type.

Applicable between Ivory Rent a Car locations following a written authorization and a special charge agreement with Ivory Rent a Car.
